  • Bulletcoatings.com has done extensive testing with both varmint and match rifles. We believe the Boron Nitride coating significantly reduces both copper and carbon barrel fouling with results showing that  100+ rounds to be fired with no significant reduction in accuracy. Our product applies easily in a vibratory tumbler.  Our process uses tumbling media to ensure to get the Boron Nitride to adhere to your bullets.  Pair coated bullets with HBN barrel treatment to ensure that the first shot fired out of a clean and pre-lubed barrel can be trusted as the true impact point.

  • Currently there are three materials used in coating bullets. Molybdenum Disulfide (“Moly”) has been used for years and is still a popular choice. More recent alternatives include Hexagonal Boron Nitride (“HBN”) and Tungsten Disulfide (“WS2”). A little moly goes a long way, believe it. Take care not to inhale powdered moly.

    The idea and theory behind moly coated bullets is less work on the barrel, less barrel fouling, longer barrel life, and more accurate shooting.   Moly coated bullets have been around for a long time now.   Molybdenum disulfide is a very “slippery” product with great lube properties at both high heat and high pressures.   Moly coated bullets are proven to  reduce pressures as well as velocity. Typically pressure is reduced by a larger percentage than velocity.
  • Here is enough to keep you busy. Tungsten Disulfide (WS2) is dry/solid lubricant powder and is one of the most lubricious substance in world. WS2 offers excellent dry lubricity (COF: 0.03) unmatched to any other substance, including Graphite or Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2). Can be applied to bullets with simple 2 step process.  No need for wax coating.
  • Hexagonal Boron Nitride (HBN) is widely used to reduce friction in industrial applications, but it has only recently been adapted to bullets. The latest and greatest bullet-coating material, HBN is ultra-slippery, goes on clear (not powdery), and will not combine with moisture or potentially harm barrel steel. HBN also can withstand extremely high temps (1000° C). Many users feel HBN is cleaner to work with than Moly or WS2, and has fewer health risks.
  • The “nano” size particle (70 nm) is smaller than the pores of your skin and can be absorbed through contact. If you breathe a cloud of this in, it will easily coat your entire airway and lungs which is not in a human’s best interest. Take proper contact precautions. Use a fine filter mask, use in well ventilated, down draft area. Wear disposable gloves and long sleeve shirts when using this product. Please understand plain anatomy and physiology. Take precaution, plan well, play safe. This particle size is highly reactive to water vapor in the air. Keep lid closed at all times to help prevent clumping. Humidity will affect its dispersion performance and using effects, therefore, this product should be sealed and stored in cool, dry room and it should not be exposure to air.
  • This vegetable wax is from the Carnauba palm that grows in northern Brazil.  Please check your custom's laws regarding the shipping of non-native plant by-products. When substituting Carnauba Wax for Beeswax in an existing recipe reduce the amount of wax by half since since Carnauba Wax has twice the stiffening power of Beeswax. Carnauba Wax has a melting point of approximately 180 F.
